Our Boxes & Programs
We curate our boxes, bundles, and experiences for black children because they endure unique struggles as a marginalized group. However, ALL racial and ethnic backgrounds benefit from the math confidence Math = Me offers.
Black Girl MATHgic Boxes
Every box features practical, hands-on grade-level math activities that make concepts fun and easy to learn. Each box contains:
- An exclusive interview/feature of woman mathematician because representation matters
- A 12-page colorful and engaging math activity workbook based on the theme for the month, chock full of foundational math lessons and activities
- 3-5 items (including at least one Screen-Free activity or manipulative) to bring the theme to life (Items differ from month-to-month)
- Custom sticker sheet
- A math affirmation card to strengthen her math confidence
- A Caring Adult Guide to help YOU help maximize the box experience (you do NOT have to be a math whiz to help kids enjoy the Black Girl MATHgic Box! Commitment is all you need.)
- Digital Answer Key to the math activity workbook (that’s right – no more Googling answers!)
MATHgic Prince Boxes
We spotlight a Black male MATHematician and Black History in front of our boys to expand their access and proximity to unlimited possibilities. Each box contains:
- An engaging, real-world theme
- Biography and interview with a Black male mathematician
- 12-page colorful and engaging math activity workbook
- 3-5 items (including at least one Screen-Free activity) to bring the theme to life
- A Caring Adult Guide to help YOU help maximize the box experience (you do NOT have to be a math whiz to help kids enjoy the Black Girl MATHgic Box! Commitment is all you need.)
- Digital Answer Key complete with detailed breakdown and explanations
- An affirmation to strengthen his math confidence
K-2 Bundles
Studies cite that math anxiety can show up as early as five years old. We aim to stop it before It starts. Each box contains:
- Black Girl MATHgic Coloring + Activity Book (30+ pages) – Meet 17 of the dynamic mathematicians featured in Black Girl MATHgic boxes PLUS strengthen your MATHgician’s math skills with a corresponding math activity sheet based on how each mathematician applies math to the real world! (example pages included below)
- Black Girl MATHgic Puzzle – Get your MATHgician’s hands on this custom math affirmation puzzle featuring a confidence-boosting affirmation and representation-inspiring imagery.
- Black Girl MATHgic swag: (BGM jumbo pencil, BGM mini folder, BGM sticker, and a BGM lapel pin)
